Inflation: Call to purchase food items from Iran

QUETTA: Haji Juma Khan Badini, President, Mustarika Balochistan Bus Transport Federation (MBBTF), has said that transporters and people of Rakhshan division could not afford the present skyrocketing inflation and uncontrollable increase in the prices of petrol products, therefore, it was high time the government granted relief to the people of Rakhshan Division living along Pak-Iran border to bring edible items and other articles of daily use from my neighbouring country Iran.

These views were expressed by him while talking to representatives of transporters who called on him here on Sunday. Badini said that a proper mechanism was required to be adopted for checking passenger coaches as passenger coaches were always stopped at check posts set up on different highways of the province, particularly on Quetta-Taftan routes, for curbing the smuggling of illegal items and maintaining law and order situation.

He added that steps be taken at zero point along Pak-Iran border to curb the smuggling of contraband items instead of stopping passenger coaches at various check posts set up on Quetta-Taftan highway.

He said that the issue had been brought into the notice of Governor Balochistan, Syed Zahoor Ahmed Agha by the representatives of Mushtarika Balochistan Bus Transport Federation in black and white, but no action had so far been taken. He called on authorities not to stop passenger coaches unnecessarily at check posts set up on different highways of the province, particularly on Quetta-Taftan route, and instead the mechanism of one time checking of passenger coaches be introduced.
