QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch has said that government for the better future of the province was giving first priority to the development of education and utilizing all available resources in this regard.
He expressed these views while talking to the representative of World Bank, Ghabreen Arif who called on him, here on Thursday.
On the occasion, it was said that for the promotion of education ,World Bank in Balochistan under Girls Promoting Project worth Rs 10 million working on construction of new school buildings, providing necessary facilities to schools and provision of teachers and imparting them trainings. Through this project buildings would also be constructed for those schools which still lack building.
Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik Baloch told World Bank’s representative that providing education to the people across the province is the responsibility of government. He said that under Article 25-A of the constitution, Government of Balochistan in order to fulfil its responsibilities implementing the comprehensive project, Balochistan Education Sector Plan.
Chief Minister said that government is committed to establish educational institutions in all districts of the province, improve educational institutions, ensure necessary facilities to them and achieve all set goals in this connection. However, he said that more resources were needed to a province like Balochistan to implement such a huge project.
He said that the support of World Bank and other organizations in education was welcome step and assured that government would welcome and would provide every possible support to organizations working in different sectors in Balochistan particularly in education.
On the occasion, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Muhammad Naseem Lehri, Provincial Secretary Higher Education Abdul Rehman Buzdar and Secretary Secondary Education Ghulam Ali were also present at the meeting.- End
