PPP men not allowed for election campaign: Kakar

QUETTA: Rozi Khan Kakar, General Secretary, Pakistan Peoples Party, Balochistan, has said we have been raising voice right from the first day when schedule for conducting local bodies election for Cantonment Boards of Quetta, Loralai and Zhob districts was announced that selected federal government has made a well devised strategy to rig the election of cantonment boards.

Talking to media outside Boys Scouts Headquarters here on Sunday, he said that candidates of Pakistan Peoples Party were contesting the election of local bodies in Cantonment Boards of Zhob, Loralai and Quetta, but leaders and workers of PPP were not allowed for election campaign.

He said that during its tenure of three years, selected government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf did nothing for the welfare of people, but during the election campaign of cantonment boards, street lights and boring for water tube wells were being installed in different constituencies of cantonment boards besides giving cash money to the voters.

Kakar said that PPP had fielded candidates against five seats of Quetta Cantonment Board, but leaders and workers of PPP were not permitted to approach voters in cantonment area of Quetta. He said that Governor Balochistan and Deputy Speaker, National Assembly were directly meddling with the election campaign of cantonment boards which could be judged from the fact that few polling stations were changed one day before the election. He said that people of the country were fed up with the present rulers and they wanted to see the government of Pakistan Peoples Party.
