Karachi: Former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif met Pakistan Cricket Board PCB’s COO PCB Subhan Ahmad and its Legal Advisor Taffazul Rizvi on Tuesday at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore regarding his claim that Indian bookie Annu Bhatt had been a guest of the board in the past.
Rashid Latif had claimed that Bhatt, named in legspinner Danish Kaneria’s case by the England and Wales Cricket Board, was the PCB’s guest when India and England toured Pakistan in 2005 and 2006 respectively. PCB took the matter seriously and issued a notice asking the former wicketkeeper batsman to prove his allegations or face legal consequence.
However, now Rashid has met with board’s officials and has submitted certain material pertaining to Danish Kaneria’s matter, as PCB had asked him to do.
“Rashid Latif has submitted certain material pertaining to Danish Kaneria’s matter, which shall be reviewed in detail by the PCB and in case the need arises another meeting will be scheduled in near future,” a PCB media release said on Tuesday.
“PCB and Rashid Latif have decided that no further comments will be made on the subject for the time being,” it added.
