Islamabad: Justice Tasadduq Hussain Jilani has sworn in as Chief of Justice of Pakistan. President Mamnoon Hussain administered oath to him at a ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr‚ Islamabad on Thursday. It was attended by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif‚ federal ministers‚ judges of the apex court‚ lawyers‚ and diplomats.
Talking to Attorney General Munir A Malik after taking oath of his office‚ Chief Justice of Pakistan Tasadduq Hussain Jilani said that the Supreme Court will continue to play its role for protection and upholding of constitution. He said that the Supreme Court is custodian of the Constitution and all possible measure will be taken to protect it.
The Attorney General congratulated to the Chief Justice on assuming office of the Chief Justice of Pakistan. He assured full cooperation to the court in dispensation of justice to the people. Tasadduq Hussain Jillani did his bachelor from Government Emerson College Multan and obtained a degree in M.A. Political Science from Forman Christian College and subsequently a graduate degree in Law from the University of the Punjab.
