Karachi: Pakistan’s T20 skipper Muhammad Hafeez has been recalled for Test match series against Sri Lanka after his impressive showings with the bat in the ongoing one-day series in UAE.
Hafeez has scored three centuries in the first four one-day matches with the fifth and final match to be played on Friday.
The all-rounder has scored 407 runs in four matches. Hafeez lost his place in Tests after below par showings against Protease earlier in October in UAE.
Meanwhile, Younis Khan, who failed to find a place in the one-dayers, has also been called for Tests.
Comeback pacer Umar Gul has also made it to the Test squad after performing well in ODIs against Sri Lanka. Gul took six wickets in two matches in the ongoing series. Gul has not been playing cricket for around eight months after he underwent knee surgery in May.
Fast bowler Muhammad Talha has also been recalled after four years. Talha played his only match for Pakistan back in 2009 in the in the Test match, which was abandoned after Sri Lankan team came under attack in Lahore.
