Student murder case: Accused remand extended

Karachi: Anti-Terrorism Court-III (ATC-III) on Thursday extended the police remand of two accused target killers, Qalbe Abbas alias Shobi and Faraz alias Baloch, to police custody till 07th December 2013 in murder of a student and possession of illegal weapons.

Police produced the accused before ATC-III Judge under tight security.

Investigation Officer requested the court for further time for investigation about the cases, which the court accepted.

According to prosecution, accused Qalbe Abbas and Faraz alias Baloch were involved in murder of Zia Rehman, a student of Banori Town, who was shot dead and another student Missbah was injured on 05th November.

The accused, had confessed that their three other accomplices were involved in killing of Zia Rehman and injuring Misbah, police said. The accused were also said to be involved in others killings.

Police had recovered two SMGs, a 9mm pistol and a TT pistol from the accused Qalbe Abbas, arrested on 18th November during a raid.

The case FIR 444/2013 was registered under Section 302 (premeditated murder) and 34 (common intention) of the Pakistan Penal Code on the complaint of one Hashim Ali Khan at the Jamshed Quarter police station.
