SU reviews pre-entry test arrangements


JAMSHORO: An important meeting regarding admissions for the session 2014 was held under the chair of Prof Dr Aslam Parvez Memon, Pro Vice Chancellor of the related campus at International University of Peace, Sufism & Modern Sciences IUPS&MS Sindh University SU campus Bhit Shah wherein the arrangements of pre entry test were discussed and reviewed.

The meeting also decided to organize Certificate Award Ceremony on October 8, 2013 so that the certificates might be distributed among those students who successfully completed their short courses and diplomas of six months and a year. Said a press statement issued here by Nadir Ali Mugheri, the spokesman of the University of Sindh Jamshoro.

Among other notables of civil society, manager press of Sindh University Ghulam Murtaza Siyal, Mohammad Soomar Wafa, Munir Juna, Syed Sarwar Shah, Engineer Roshan Ali Rahoo, Dr. Hyder Malookani, Wali Mohammad Danish, Mehar Ali Khoso, Ghulam Rasool Malookani and Bisharat Ali also participated in the moot.

On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Aslam Pervez Memon termed the Sufi University as blessing in the field of higher education for the inhabitants of Bhit Shah and its vicinity, saying that the credit of establishment of Sindh University campus IUPS&MS goes to Prof. Dr. Nazir A. Mughal, the vice chancellor of University of Sindh Jamshoro; this campus is developing rapidly and earning good name and fame among the masses both nationally and globally.

He said that three masters programs including Masters of Arts M.A in Sufism & Peace, M.A in English and M.A in International Relations whereas one Bachelor degree program in Business Administration BBA will be offered for the session 2014. Terming the said four degree programs imperative for getting jobs quickly in the market, the PVC said that he initially introduced those disciplines with the approval of Vice Chancellor Dr. Mughal which possesses scope so that after getting the degrees, the students could soon be able to sweep up the jobs.

Dr Memon further said that the role of civil society for the betterment of the rural areas could not be ignored as according to him the activists of civil society must come forward to create awareness among the people of Bhit Shah for seeking more admissions on the campus in an attempt to educate our youngsters.

On the occasion, the representatives of civil society vowed to play an active role in mobilizing the community in Bhit Shah and its environs in order to ensure more admissions at Sufi University. They also assured of expediting the process of handing over three additional rooms from Bhit Shah High School to Sufi University.

In the end, a 5member organizing committee was constituted in a order to finalize the arrangements of Certificate Award Ceremony to be held on October 8. Engineer Roshan Ali Rahoo, Dr Hyder Malookani, Wali Mohammad Danish, Mehar Ali Khoso and Bisharat Ali would be the members of the committee. It is worth mentioning that the certificates will be distributed among those successful students of the campus who effectively completed their short courses/diplomas.
