National Assembly was informed today (Friday) that the country has witnessed over three percent increase in exports and sixteen percent decrease in imports in the first half of the current fiscal year.
Replying to a question during the Question Hour, the Parliamentary Secretary for Commerce Aliya Hamza Malik said with the decrease in imports, Pakistan's trade deficit has decreased by thirty percent in the first half of the current fiscal year.
She said after gaining the status of GSP+ Pakistan's total trade to European Union has increased from 11960 million dollars to 14158 million dollars.
Answering a question regarding suspension of trade with India, she said after unilateral action by India in occupied Kashmir in August last year, Pakistan had suspended imports from India.
