Two peasants of Bhutto Estate kidnapped


NAUNDERO: Two peasants of Bhutto Estate, Zakir Mangnejo and Nasir Mangnejo, both cousins, have allegedly been kidnapped for ransom by unknown armed bandits but the matter was kept hidden from the Journalists both by the police and the relatives of the abducted men since two days.

The relatives of the two kidnapped peasants finding no other solution, held a protest demonstration and blocked main Sukkur-Larkana road near their village Saboo Kertio, jamming traffic.

Ex-President Zardari and Sindh Cabinet members along with their Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah and bureaucrats were present here to participate in the cabinet meeting which was held at Bhutto house. Due to blockade of the road, Naundero police underwent severe mental torture as one Minister Hazar Khan Bajarani was not allowed to cross by the agitating villagers and he returned back to Bhutto House and asked police to vacate the road.

DSP Naundero Imtiaz Domki and SHO Sartaj Jagirani went to the spot and started talks with the relatives of the two abducted farmers of Benazir Bhutto. The policemen assured the villagers that within two days, the peasants would be recovered and then after about two hours, the villagers dispersed peacefully.

Shafan, Nek Muhammad, Anwar Mangnejo and others told media that they had lodged a report at Naundero police on the same day but it has done nothing as yet due to which they were forced to block the main road for pressing their just demand. They further said that crime in their area had risen to unprecedented level which was never witnessed before and added that cattle theft was a daily affair here due to which they passed sleepless nights.

They further said that the Bhutto Estate Manager had also not even phoned to solace us thus he had refused to help the poor peasants to recover the two kidnapped peasants of Bhutto Estate. The protesters also burnt bushes and tires, chanting slogans against Naundero police. They said that DSP and SHO Naundero must be taken to task for their failure to restore peace in their limits.
