VC BBMU Larkana, employees dispute deepens

RATODERO: The ongoing dispute between the Vice Chancellor (VC), Benazir Bhutto Medical University (BBMU) and the paramedics association further aggravated when the electricity of eight Chandka Medical College students hostels was disconnected allegedly by the office-bearers of Paramedics along with the university campus.

The electricity remained cut off for more than three and half hours. All the classrooms and the administration Block, including all departments remained locked on single demand that the VC should be removed immediately. Noor Hulio General secretary of the paramedics told reporters that they were holding protest demonstration since last many days for removing corrupt VC to save the future of BBMU, otherwise it was impossible to run it with the same boss.

MBBS student Razak Budhani told Reporters that the dispute is going on at the cost of their education which is suffering for no fault of theirs and warned that they will knock the door of the Sindh High Court to seek justice by filing a petition.

He further said that the students have been holding talks with the CMC Principal, VC and the association leaders but in vain resulting loss of their precious time. He further said that the students are being issued threats by the association office bearers not to intervene but they cannot keep quite which will ruin their future career. The electricity was restored when police was called by the students and the CMC administration.

The people of Larkana have expressed their resentment over the silence of the Sindh government and the elected representatives of Larkana district on this issue which has paralyzed the education system of a professional university since long and matter has not so far entailed the notice of any political person which shows that some hidden hands are working behind all this drama.
