KARACHI: Provincial Secretary of Pakistan Red Crescent Society PRCS Sindh Branch Kanwar Waseem announced on Monday that PRCS will organize First Aid Demonstrations and Quiz Program at Karachi Medical and Dental College KMDC to celebrate World First Aid Day on 14th September.
He said PRCS is a humanitarian organization dedicated to improving lives of vulnerable segments of the society and also a part of Red Cross Red Crescent movement which is serving the humanity worldwide for the last 150 years. He said PRCS also provides trainings on various health assistance, first aid and disaster management to various organizations in order to increase the capacity of the staff involved to deal with emergency situations.
Kanwar Waseem said Pakistan Red Crescent Society and 187 Red Cross & Red Crescent Societies around the world observe” World First Aid Day” events and ceremonies on the second Saturday of September to raise public awareness of how first aid can save lives in everyday and crisis situations. He said first aid should be accessible to all including the most vulnerable, and should also be an integral part of a wider developmental approach. He said this year the day would be celebrated with theme is “FIRST AID and Road Safety”.
He said First Aid Training Institute of Sindh Red Crescent is conducting first aid trainings countrywide and trying to achieve its goal that “First Aider inn Every Home”. He said first aid experts of Sindh Red Crescent will also appear on Pakistan’s TV Channels and present first aid demonstration.
