Liquid foreign reserves reach $14,944.7m

KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday announced that the total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$14,944.7 million on 26 December2014.

It said that the break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under: foreign reserves held by the SBP stood at US$10,304.9 million; net foreign reserves held by banks reached US$4,639.8 million and total liquid foreign reserves remained US$ 14,944.7 million.

During the week ending 26 December2014, SBP’s Liquid FX reserves decreased by US$60 million to US$10,305 million compared to US$10,365 million in the previous week.

During the week SBP made payments of US$197 million on account of external debt servicing and other official payments of which US$139 million was paid to IMF under SBA.
