KARACHI: The position of the river inflows and outflows at Tarbela, Mangla and Chashma along with the reservoirs levels and the barrages today is as under:
Rivers: Indus at Tarbela-Inflows 19300 cusecs and Outflows 45000 cusecs, Kabul at Nowshera: Inflows 8700 cusecs and Outflows 8700 cusecs, Jhelum at Mangla- Inflows 12000 cusecs and Outflows 45000 cusecs, Chenab at Marala- Inflows 6800 cusecs and Outflows 3000 cusecs.
Barrages: Jinnah-Inflows 46900 cusecs and Outflows 39400 cusecs, Chashma -Inflows 41400 cusecs and Outflows 45000 cusecs, Taunsa- Inflows 29400 cusecs and Outflows 29400 cusecs, Panjnad- Inflows 12100 cusecs and Outflows 9000 Guddu- Inflows 35400 cusecs and Outflows 29100 cusecs, Sukkur- Inflows 30200 cusecs and Outflows 2800 cusecs, Kotri- Inflows 5300 cusecs and Outflows Nil cusecs.
Reservoirs’ Level and Storage: Tarbela – dead level 1380 feet, present level 1474.06 feet, maximum level 1550 feet, live storage 2.607 million acre feet (MAF) Mangla – dead level 1040 feet, present level 1181.55 feet, maximum level 1242 feet, live storage 3.363 MAF, Chashma – dead level 637 feet, present level 643.80 feet, maximum level 649 feet, live storage 0.111 MAF.
The inflows and outflows of River Indus at Tarbela and Chashma, River Kabul at Nowshera and River Jhelum at Mangla have been reflected as mean flows of 24 hours, whereas the other flows have been gauged at 6.00 am.
