Test Cricketer Younas Khan meets CM, expresses solidarity on Peshawar tragedy

Peshawar: Pakistani test cricketer Younas Khan called on the KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak at CM Sectt Peshawar and expressed condolence and solidarity with the people and govt of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Peshawar school carnage on behalf of his national cricket team and that of Newzealand. He while condemning the massacre of innocent school children and teachers said that it was the worst barbaric terror incident that gloomed the entire world community.

Commentator and former test cricketer Haris Khan as well as the members and office bearers of cricket board and cricket associations of various districts including Mardan and Charsadda also accompanied him while KP Senior Minister for Health Shahram Khan Tarraki, Minister Education Muhammad Aatif Khan and other highups of provincial government were present on this occasion.

Younas Khan told the Chief Minister that his national cricket team was busy in match with Newzealand when they received the tragic news of Peshawar incident and hence this inhuman terror act deeply grieved both the teams to immense level of shock.

He said his national and Newzealand cricket teams as well as others also condoled with him due to his belonging to Mardan and hence besides handing him condolence letters and financial assistance for the aggrieved parents cricket kits and gifts were also given to him for the injured school children.

He said all these gifts and assistance has been handed over to all the concerned during his visit of Peshawar and condoling with the school management and victim families.

He also exchange views with the Chief Minister on matters relating to promotion of sports in the province as well as appreciated the measures taken for elimination of corruption and improving performance of the institutions including police schools and hospitals.

Pervez Khattak while thanking Younas Khan for condolence and solidarity with victims and people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Peshawar tragedy said that we rightly expected such an attitude from our national heroes. He said that this horrible terror incident has awakened the entire nation and united the national leadership.

He deplored that no religion or civilization on earth allowed taking revenge from children or killing them in cold blood but the terrorist by committing such heinous act of terrorism proved that they did not belong to any religion or any race of humanity.

Chief Minister also thanked Younas Khan for encouraging remarks about policy and steps of KP government. However, he said we had to do a lot. He said the process of change and bringing the system on track was continued while the people would soon harvest the fruit of such efforts.

He said that Imran Khan wanted a transparent system based on supremacy of merit and justice not only in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but in the entire country while difficult tasks and targets have been assigned by him to us and asked for 100% achievement of these targets at every cost. Hence he said that we would leave no stone unturned to come up to the expectations of our party leader as well as mandate of the masses
