QUETTA: Polling for third phase of local bodies was held in Baluchistan including Quetta Wednesday. Provincial Election Commission sources told PPI that no untoward incident was reported from anywhere in the province where smooth and peaceful polls were held for reserved seats of peasants and workers.
Sources said there were 743 seats reserved for peasants and same number of 743 for workers in the province.
Third phase polls were held in all the 32 districts of Balochistan except Turbat where all the candidates have already been elected uncontested.
Sources told that there were 3 seats reserved for workers and 3 for peasants in the Metropolitan Corporation Quetta. Fifty eight voters (elected councilors) were eligible for casting their votes for these seats. Fifty candidates cast their votes.
Sources said polling start at 9 am and continued till 3 pm without any break.
Four Candidates fielded by Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party and All Parties Democratic Alliance remained successful. Their seats are equal and decision would be made through toss on February 2.
