Ratodero: As many as 95000 children have been given anti-polio drops on the first day of the 3-day campaign, informed the District Health Officer, Dr. Khalilullah Shaikh to a meeting presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner-I, Saifullah Abro, in Circuit House Larkana.
Officers of UC, Taluka and district level participated in the meeting in which some of them also complained about the bad law & order situation in some areas/villages.
DHO further informed the meeting that there are 3,15,000 children who are all to be given drops to achieve the target if they and his polio staff is provided sufficient security in no-go areas of the district.
DHO Khalilullah Shaikh told PPI that polio workers are facing security problems in many Union Councils which are located in the riverine area of
Larkana district which include Union Councils of Karani, Yaroo Lakhair,
Phull, Akil, Old Abad, Mahar Wada and Bahman.
