Bahrain sets November 24 for parliamentary election

Bahrain announced on Monday that it will hold parliamentary elections on November 24, and that nomination for membership of the House of Representatives will open on October 17.

The announcement came in a royal order of Bahrain's King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, in which he invited the voters to come to the polling stations for the election of members of the House of Representatives on Nov. 24, pointing out that a second round, if required, will be held on December 1.

The royal decree, carried by Bahrain News Agency (BNA), noted that elections will be held at Bahraini embassies, consulates and diplomatic missions abroad on November 20 and a second round, if required, will be held on Nov. 27. It explained that nomination for membership of the House of Representatives will open from 17 to 21 October.
