LARKANA: Deputy Commissioner, Larkana, Ghanwar Ali Leghari, in a meeting decided to enhance Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) Centers to 12 so that its beneficiaries feel comfortable in receiving financial benefits.
Chairing a meeting at his office, he told the participants that now every aspirant would be issued a token and daily. As many as 400 such tokens will be issued to the women so that they can get the money easily.
He said that Larkana Taluka will have six centers, tw0 centers in each Taluka of Larkana district i-e Ratodero, Dokri and Bakrani.
Assistants Commissioners, BISP authorities, and Habib Bank officials also participated in the meeting. It may be mentioned here that due to stampede at BISP Counter, one aged woman, Beebul Abro, had died and two others were fainted as the authorities have so far failed to provide essential necessities of daily life such as cold drinking water, proper shade etc in this scorching heat as the aspirant women come in large numbers from remote areas of the district to benefit from the program.
Sources said that only two centers were previously working one in Larkana and other at Garello which too were opened by BISP people at their own without consulting district administration and provision of proper facilities.
