District: Six dangerous accused escape from police custody after breaking judicial lock ups

Sialkot: As many as six dangerous accused on Saturday managed to escape from  police custody  after breaking into the judicial lock ups  in Sambrial during rain. According to the details  a nine-member police team led by ASI Muhammad Ayub, today, brought as many as 27 different accused to judicial lock ups Sambrial for producing the before the  local  courts in different cases.

Police locked the accused prisoners in the judicial lock up Sambrial, from where, as many as six accused prisoners managed to escape after breaking the ventilator of the bath room. Six dangerous accused fled away through a single ventilator and the police knew their escape after some time. Six dangerous accused escaped while the rest 21 accused remained there in the judicial lock ups.

The names of the fleeing accused are  Azmat alias Motu, Luqman alias Gona residents of village Waan-Begowala (nominated in murder case No.271/2013 under sections 302, 324 PPC lodged at Begowala police station), Muhammad Qasim resident of village Dhaanaanwali-Sambrial (nominated in murder case No.  76/2013 under sections 302, 324 PPC lodged at Airport police station),   Akhtar Ghulam Rasul resident of village Kang Chheelokey-Sambrial (nominated in case No. 226/2012 under section 324 PPC lodged at  Begowala police station),   Zubair Latif  resident of village Pakki Kotli-Daska(nominated in case No. 101/2014 under section 489-F PPC lodged at Sambrial police station) and Muzamal Shafiq resident of Gakhar Mandi-Gujranwala (nominated in case No. 579/2013 under section 392 PPC lodged at Sambrial police station.

Accused Azmat alias Motu and Luqman alias Gona were the real brothers and they had also killed two police constables in an encounter near Begowala police station about two years ago. District Police Officer (DPO) Sialkot Muhammad Gohar Nafees rushed to the spot and inquired about this nasty incident. DPO immediately suspended from service accused ASI Muhammad Ayub and nine other police officials and he ordered registration of case against them for their slackness and negligence, in this regard.

DPO told the newsmen at Sambrial that the special police teams led by senior police officials have been formulated, which were raiding at various places to ensure the early arrest of the fleeing accused. He said that the fugitive accused would soon be arrested, in this regard. This escape of six dangerous accused from police custody showed a lapse in security, as the judicial lock ups Sambrial had never been checked by the senior police officials for security purpose.
