Five cops, four bandits killed in Mirpurkhas encounter, seven cops injured


Mirpurkhas: Five cops embraced martyrdom in encounter with dacoits here; however, seven other cops were injured, while four bandits were also killed.

As per details, a police encounter started with bandits started in Mehmoodabad area on Friday night. However, in trade of firing two SHOs and three constables were killed. The martyred SHOs were identified as Hussain Ali Abidi and Wahid Bux Laghari, while the martyred cops included Anwer Hameed, Dilbar Hussain and Abdul Jabbar.

Four bandits Chhota Narejo, Qurban Narejo, Abdul Wahab Narejo, and Jan Mohammad Narejo were killed. Slain Chhota Narejo and Qurban Narejo carried Rs1mn head money each. They belonged to Khairpur and wanted to police in several crimes.

Eight policemen were injured who were rushed to hospitals of Mirpurkhas, Hyderabad and Karachi.

Police arrested two women Aaminat Narejo and Abida Narejo and shifted them to undisclosed location.

The bodies of slain cops after postmortem at Mirpurkhas were shifted to Hyderabad where IGP Sindh and other senior police officers attended their funeral prayer.
