Larkanaites protest crippling power outages

LARKANA: The residents of Nazar Muhalla and Bhains Colony held a protest demonstration and staged a sit-in on Jinnah Bagh Road here on Thursday against unannounced power outages in their localities.

Due to blockade of the main roundabout by protesters, the citizens suffered a lot.

Talking to media, Changez Abro, Manthar Jamali, Haji Khan Abbasi, Majeed Jatoi and Nazar Muhammad Magsi said that in their localities, 20-hour-long electricity load shedding was being carried out on daily basis by the local SEPCO authorities

They said that power outages had badly affected their social life as they even could not perform their routine duties.

The leaders said that they had also closed down their all shops today in these areas to protest against crippling power crisis.

The PPP leaders have failed to rescue them from this inhuman treatment by the SEPCO, they said.

The agitating people demanded of federal and provincial governments to look into the problems and bring parity in dealing with power crisis and enforce equal load shedding timings in the country including Larkana.
