SIALKOT: The Pak Army’s annual spring festival, concluded at Polo Ground Sialkot Cantt here Thursday. A large number of the civilian people participated in this colourful ceremony along the army officials.
Corps Commander Gujranwala Lt-Gen Saleem Nawaz was the chief guest of the concluding ceremony, while, Maj-Gen Aamir Aslam Khan (GoC 15 Div Sialkot Cantt), Maj-Gen Naseer Ali Khan ( GoC 8 Div Sialkot), other senior officials and DCO Iftikhar Ali Sahu were present on this occasion.
The army Jawans presented March past and showed the skills of horse riding, dance on musical tunes, flower show competition, dog show competition, tent pegging and birds and pet shows were also held. The senior army officials inaugurated the flowers’ show.
Addressing the participants the senior army officials said that the flowers are sources of spiritual satisfaction in this era of anxiety and stress. They transform the people’s tension into pleasure with fragrance of hope and love to their lives.
The visiting people and the participants were of the view that due to financial problems, people do not have festivities in their lives and government should strive to boost cultural and rural activities in order to attract the common man to participate such traditional events.
People from all walks of life made their presence and observed flower arrangements, decoration, landscaping and gardening skills.
Army officials distributed shields and prizes amongst the participants showing the outstanding performance.
