LARKANA: High and low ranking police officials claimed on Thursday that their salaries have not been increased as being projected.
The head constables said that they used to draw 50% of the risk allowance previously which amounted between Rs 4700 to 5000 per month for each HC and now it has been reduced to Rs 3530. Similarly constables used to draw this allowance between Rs 3800 to 4100 per month and now it has been reduced to 3340 per month.
They said that inspectors used to get this allowance per month at Rs 6790 and now they would get only Rs 6,060 only. They further said on the condition of anonymity that only daily allowance has been increased by few hundred rupees.
Inspectors were denied daily allowance previously but now they will get Rs 7,300 per month. The notification issued by the finance department on 26th December, 2014 says that risk allowance would be given to 115,948 employees from BS-5 to BS-22, ration allowance to 113,798 employees from BS-5 to BS-14 from police constables to sub-inspectors.
Constabulary, allowance will be given to 99,017 employees of BS-5 to BS-7, and fixed daily allowance will be given to 115,948 from BS-5 to BS-22 from IGP to police constable.
There is one IGP of BS-22, six Additional IGPs of BS-21, 19 DIGPs of BS-20, 43 SSPs of BS-19, 120 SPs of BS-18, 377 ASPs, DSPs and PDSPs of BS-17, 2293 inspectors and prosecuting inspectors of BS-16, 4816 sub-inspectors and prosecuting sub-inspectors of BS-14, 9254 ASIs of BS-9, 1,9606 head constables of BS-7 and 9,2411 police constables of BS-5 in Sindh province and this force is called operational force of Sindh police.
The above allowance shall not be applicable to non-field officers and officials such as specialized units of Sindh police including SSU, CID and Bomb Disposal Squad who have already been allowed special package which shall remain intact.
