Strike against lawlessness, load shedding


Naudero: Citizens of Naundero town observed a complete shutter down strike here on the call of Shehri Action Committee against prolonged electricity load shedding and worsened lawlessness.

The protesters gave 48-hours ultimatum to reduce power outages and improve law & order. All shops, bazaars, shopping centers, and even pushcart vendors closed their business to take part in the protest. Transport plying on main roads o remained thin due to which commuters faced a lot of problems.

Thousands of protesters gathered in front of municipality office, burnt tyres, chanted slogans demanding end of load shedding. Tyres were also burnt on all the main roundabouts of the town. The protesters then took out a rally and went to Agani Petrol Pump, located on Larkana-Naundero road and staged sit-in there due to which all kinds of traffic between Sukkur and Larkana remained suspended.

PML-N, PPP-SB, JSQM, JUI-F, Awami Tehreek, PML-F, Sachal Ittehad, Awami Jamhoori Party, Sindhi Adabi Sangat, Mazdoor Ittehad, Islahul Muslimeen, Tailor Master and other Associations took part in the protest led by Ghulam Hyder Narejo, Hameed Soomro, Jawaid Bhutto, Hussain Bux Narejo,  Manzoor Mangi, Manzoor Mirani, Hameed Soomro, Waryam Channo, Rajib Sethar, Amanullah Bhutto, Maulana Abdul Quddoos Panhwar and others.

Ghulam Hyder Narejo, Manzoor Mangi and Waryam Channo told PPI that the protesters unanimously decided to give 48-hours ultimatum to the SEPCO & other related government authorities including police to reduce load shedding duration here, otherwise all roads leading to this town will be blocked, all government offices including grid station will be besieged for which only government will be responsible. They also warned police to improve law & order situation or else the police station will be besieged.
