Strike against load shedding, lawlessness

NAUDERO, Sindh: Shehri Action Committee, Naundero has announced to observe a shutter down strike on Monday against prolonged electricity load shedding and growi9ng lawlessness.

The decision was made in a meeting attended by different political, social welfare and literary organizations including PML-N, PPP-SB, JSQM, JUI-F, Awami Tehreek, PML-F, Sachal Ittehad, Awami Jamhoori Party, Sindhi Adabi Sangat, Hindu Panchayat, Tailor Associations and other bodies. The ruling party PPPP was conspicuous by its absence.

Talking to media Ghulam Hyder Narejo, Hameed Soomro, Jawaid Bhutto, Hussain Bux Narejo, Manzoor Mangi, Waryam Channo, Seth Bhagchand, Abdul Salam Dharejo and others said that 14 to 18 hours electricity load shedding is being carried out here which is tantamount to torture of citizens. They said elected representatives from this area are silent on this grave issue being faced by the citizens in this extremely hot weather.

They further said that crime has increased manifolds and police have failed to give citizens protection. Now the citizens have no option but to stage a peaceful protest including a day-long shutter down strike which would be observed on Monday, 02nd June, 2014. They appealed to shopkeepers and other businessmen to cooperate in their own interest.
