Challan of 8249 vehicles


SIALKOT: The Sialkot district traffic police have challaned as many as 8249 different vehicles, fining them Rs.3.2 million for violating the traffic rules during the month of October 2013.

DSP, Traffic Muhammad Waseem Akhtar told the newsmen here Thursday that the traffic police impounded as many as 1736 different vehicles, arresting their drivers, suspending 21 traffic licenses and cancelling 7 different route permits.

DSP said that traffic police Sialkot challaned 1625 vehicles for having no registration papers, 950 vehicles for overloading of the passengers, 860 vehicles for luggage overloading, 398 motorcycles for tripling of riders, 325 vehicles for wrong parking, 1461 public transport wagons, 497 buses, 4404 motorcycles and 268 smoke emitting rickshaws for violation of traffic rules.
