Punjab to hold LB polls on party basis on given schedule: says Rana Sana Ullah


SIALKOT: Provincial Minister for Law Punjab Rana Sana Ullah has said that the Punjab government respects the verdicts of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and Lahore High Court (LHC), saying that the Punjab government was ready to hold the elections of the Local Bodies in Punjab on party basis following the orders of the LHC on the scheduled time given by the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

He stated this while talking to the newsmen here Friday after reviewing the Muharram security arrangements made by the district administration. Punjab Chief Secretary Naveed Akram Cheema, Commissioner Gujranwala Division Khawaja Shamail Ahmed and DCO Iftikhar Ali Sahu were present on this occasion.

Rana Sana Ullah said that there should be no doubt by any one regarding holding the LB Polls in Punjab. He said that the Punjab government would hold the LB Polls on party basis as per the election schedule given by the Supreme Court.

Provincial Law Minister reviewed the Muharram security arrangements at Imambargah Adda Pasruriyaan and Imambargah Mistary Abdullah-Sialkot and said that the government would provide the foolproof security for holding Majaalis and Muharram processions to all the license holders.

He said that the government was ensuring peace and making all sincere efforts to weed out terrorism from the country in active cooperation of the masses.
