CHAGAI: Present Democratic government is serious for development and welfare and well being of people of Balochistan. After devolution of powers to the provinces under 18 th amendment their access over mineral resources has increased. If powers are exploited properly sense of deprivation prevalent in the country particularly Balochistan can be overcome to a great extent.

This was stated by Chairman Senate Standing Committee on Petroleum, Natural resources Yusuf Baloch while speaking to newsmen during his visit to Saindak Project Wednesday.

He said 50 percent royalty from Saindak Project should be spent on removing backwardness of Balochistan. He said Committee would prepare its recommendations to the provincial and federal governments in this regard. He said there is need all mineral resources o f Balochistan should be exploited and utilized for development of the province and end of unemployment. He said other mega projects in the province should follow Saindak project and provide jobs to the local people so that sense of deprivation is minimized by providing employment to the unemployed youth. He said it is good sign that 1500 employees posted at Saindak project belong to this province.

Members of Committee Mohtarma Rubina Irfan, Abdul Babi Bangash, Hamza Khan, DG Mines and Minerals Balochistan Saeed Baloch and others held detailed visit of the project and viewed all process. They also inspected steps taken by Saindak project for welfare in the area. They visited mining, laboratory, workshop, power house, smelter, construction and water plant.

Managing Director Saindak Project Raziq Sanjrani at a briefing told Senate Committee that presently 1800 employees were working most of whom belong to District Chagai.

Speaking on the occasion Senator Yusuf Baloch said if provincial resources are utilized justifiably sense of deprivation could end. He said when youth get employments they would need not to go to mountains for war with government.

He said District Chagai is most backward area where people are deprived of basic facilities including electrify, water and health. He said Saindak project should also work in social sector.

Later he also visited Zero Point, Zahidi Gate along Pak-Iran border during their visit to Taftan.
