Electioneering in full swing in Balochistan

QUETTA: Election campaign for Dec 7 local government elections have entered in decisive phase in Balochistan. Election Commission has completed transportation of ballot papers and election material to all districts of Balochistan.

There are 3.2 million registered voters who would cast their votes for 4350 seats while by polls will be held on 503 vacant seats after December 7. Six million ballot papers have been printed for this purpose.

PML-N, PML, PPP, National Party, PMAP, BNP, BNP-A, ANP, JUI-F, Tehreek Insaf, Hazara Democratic Party and Mutahidda Qaumi Movement have fielded their candidates. Several parties have formed All Parties Democratic Alliance. Jamhoori Watan Party and Haq Na Tawar parties have announced boycott of LB polls.

Fifty four thousand four hundred and twenty six personnel of law enforcement agencies including Army, FC, Police, Levies and Balochistan Constabulary have been deployed for security during polls. Nine districts of the province have been declared as very sensitive.

It is heartening to note LB Polls are being held in peaceful atmosphere in Quetta and no untoward incident has been reported form anywhere so far.
