APAT gives go ahead for divisional wings of traders

LAHORE: The advisory meeting of the AnjumaneTajiran central Punjab was held with APAT central general secretary Naeem Mir in the chair at Sheikhupura Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The meeting was attended by trade representatives of several districts of the province, including Sheikhupura, Lahore, Pakpatan, Arif Wala, Sahiwal, Gujranwala and Gujrat. The meeting approved the formation of traders organization at divisional and district level and declared that APAT would announce all heads of district trade organizations by March 31.

The meeting was also attended by Mehboob Sirki, Ayyub Butt, Shahid Bilal, Sheikh Shafiq, Amjad Nazir Butt, Manzoorul Haq Malik, Mian Farooq, Haji Ghulam Nabi Virk, Shahid Hameed and Soofi Rasheed.

On the occasion, the APAT general secretary, addressing the meeting said that small traders in collaboration with big traders will form chambers of small traders and cottage industry at district level. He made it clear that prevailing confidence with the existing chambers will continue as there is no clash with them.

Highlighting the financial scenario of the country, he said that political debate and economic policy considerations require convergence at this critical juncture when the country is faced with multiple challenges including industrial deceleration, deteriorating law and order situation and above all unprecedented domestic borrowing.

“This is a prerequisite to help reduce dependence on International Financial Institutions IFIs like International Monetary Fund IMF and the World Bank and for paving way for selfreliance in coming years.”

The APAT leader said that Pakistan, at this point, is in dire need of stability in policy making and strong institutions and to achieve the very objective, both the politicians and the business leaders would have to join their heads for finding out a common economic agenda.

Mehboob Sirki was given a special task to activate the 13 district trade organizations, besides speeding up the efforts of formation of chambers of small traders and cottage industry in every district.

The Sheikhupura Chamber of Commerce and Industry president AR Khan also arranged a lunch in honor of the participants of the meeting.
