Ratodero, Sindh: The Divisional and District Officers of Sindh government sometimes do not attend phone calls in connection with public grievances made from Grievances Wing of Prime Minister’s Secretariat, Islamabad, Chief Coordinator, Grievances Wing, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani observed in a letter to Sindh Chief Secretary.
He stated in the letter that people from oppressed and dejected segments of society from all parts of the country are approaching the Prime Minister for redressing their grievances after running from pillar to post but without any avail. They finally see a ray of hope in placing their problems before the Prime Minister. Considering the importance of the matter a Grievances Wing had been set up in the Prime Minister’s Secretariat which is presently working to take care of such petitions, on behalf of the Prime Minister and provide them maximum relief within the framed parameters and law of the land at the shortest possible time.
“To achieve this objective, all the petitions are forwarded to the highest offices in the hierarchy for bringing the grievances directly into their knowledge and for appropriate action,” letter said.
Chief Coordinator further said that Grievances Wing would expect and appreciate prompt response and constant coordination in providing relief to the people by redressing their grievances to the possible extent. “For the purpose a focal person was appointed in your office for expeditious disposal of such petitions which has proved quite effective. It has however been observed that sometimes due to transfer/promotion of focal person new incumbent is not notified which resultantly affect very purpose of this exercise. It is therefore requested that in case of transfer of nominated focal person his incumbent may be duly notified under intimation to this secretariat.”
Sanjrani further said that it has also been observed that sometimes divisional/district officers do not respond telephone calls made from this secretariat to follow up certain cases hence they may be reminded and directed to promptly respond to written as well as telephonic requests from this secretariat.
This letter has been forwarded by the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, Government of Sindh to the Additional Chief Secretaries of P&D, Finance and Home, Principal Secretaries to the Governor & Chief Minister Sindh, all Secretaries, Divisional Commissioners and Inspector General of Police to ensure giving prompt response to all the grievance matters received from Prime Minister Grievances Wing, Islamabad in future and report compliance within three days.
