General ® Ahsan Azhar Hayat, High Commissioner designate to Sri Lanka Major General ® Qasim Qureshi, High Commissioner designate to Mauritius Major General ® Ulfat Hussain Shah, Ambassador designate to Russian Federation Mr. A.B.K Babar, Ambassador designate to Sweden Mr. Sajjad Kamran, High Commissioner designate to Maldives Mr. Mohammad Saeed Khan, Ambassador designate to Uzbekistan Mr. Riaz H. Bukhari and Ambassador designate to Kuwait Syed Abrar Hussain called on the President Asif Ali Zardari at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Wednesday.
The President felicitated the newly appointed envoys and urged them to take concrete steps to further promote diplomatic, political, economic, trade and commercial ties between Pakistan and their respective host countries.
The President said that Pakistani community were our goodwill ambassadors who worked hard and served as the public face of a hardworking Pakistani nation and asked them to serve the Pakistani community in the best possible manner and help resolve their problem on priority basis.
The President said that remittances inflow into the country had been steadily rising due to policy of incentives offered by the government and advised the envoys designate to encourage the expatriate Pakistani benefit from these incentives.
The President underlined the importance of economic diplomacy which he emphasized should be pursued by all diplomats to further promote economic interests of the country.
The President urged the envoys to project the numerous investment friendly policies adopted by the government and encourage the investors of their host countries to invest in Pakistan to mutual benefit.
The envoys thanked the President for the confidence reposed in them and assured that they would utilize all their capabilities to boost Pakistan’s bilateral ties with their host countries.
