KARACHI: Department of Microbiology, Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology FUUAST, Gulshan Campus, in collaboration with Dimension Research and Microbiology Association of Pakistan on Thursday organized a seminar on topic: “Clinical Research and its Importance in Pakistan.
Vice Chancellor FUUAST, Prof Dr Zafar Iqbal, assured his full cooperation to teachers and students for education and research purpose. He said that it is his longstanding desire to see FUUAST among top academic institutions of the world in future.
A workshop on the theme of “The Drug Trap and Pharmacovigilance” was also organized after the seminar.
Dean Faculty of Science Prof Dr Arif Zubair asked the students to concentrate on research and skilled development studies, as having the master degree not enough to meet the future challenges.
Chairperson Microbiology Prof Atiya Naeem said the department is interested to hold maximum number of research based seminars in order to promote latest research studies.
Dr Sikander Sherwani said scientists have failed to present benefits of their research in markets due to lack of coordination between the research institutions and trade.
Dr Khurram Zaki said ratio of fatal diseases is increasing day by day in the country, while the allocated budget is not enough for medical research.
