QUETTA: Baluchistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi has asked police and other law enforcement agencies to discharge their obligations with bravery and without fear for security life and property of people. They should work in unison for this purpose.
He expressed these views at a meeting which reviewed law and order and security situation in Baluchistan in general and in Quetta with particular and took important decisions here Tuesday.
Provincial Secretary Home Akbar Hussain Durrani, Principal Secretary to Governor Abdul Jabbar, IG Balochistan Police Mushtaq Sukhera, IG FC Major general Obedullah Khan, Commissioner Quetta Division Qambar Dashti and other concerned officers attended.
Governor said this country is ours and we have to work for its security, stability and progress and by sinking our differences to move forward.
Government was of the view State should strictly enforce its authority and take action against terrorist elements without any leniency. He said no officer is personal servant of any one. They should discharge their responsibilities without fear and indiscriminately.
Stressing need for improving law and order situation in Quetta city Governor Magsi said wall chalking should be stopped in the city and posters installed along different city roads should be removed.
He said situation has improved following imposition of Governor rule. Law enforcement agencies have conducted 129 raids during targeted operations in which huge weapons were recovered and accused arrested.
Referring to Hazara Town incident Governor directed compensation be made to those killed in the incident immediately.
Besides, damages to properties should also be reviewed and its compensation should be paid.
He said there is ban on weapons of banned bore yet people have permission to keep licensed weapons for their security.
He said now when election C omission has allowed, appointment sin police should be made immediately. He also directed for effective security measures for Zaireen for Iran. He said he has proposed to the Federal government to introduce Air service from big cities for Zaireen going to Iran.
