Indian troops martyr two youth in IOK

Srinagar, June 17, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Indian troops in their fresh act of state terrorism martyred two Kashmiri youth in Islamabad district, today. The youth were killed by the troops during a violent cordon and search operation in Bidoora-Achabal area of the district. The occupation authorities suspended mobile internet services in the district.

An Indian army Major was killed and another officer along with two soldiers were injured in an attack in the same area. The deceased Major has been identified as Rahul Verma while the injured officer and soldiers were evacuated to a nearby military hospital for treatment.

Indian troops also launched massive cordon and search operations in Pulwama, Kulgam, Shopian and Bandipore districts. People took to the streets against the operation by the Indian army at Qaimoh in Kulgam district. The troops used brute force and fired pellets and teargas shells on protesters. Meanwhile, Indian troops arrested seven youth during house raids in different areas of Pulwama district, today.

The Jammu and Kashmir Ummat-e-Islami in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, announced weekly programmes to commemorate the 25th martyrdom anniversary of noted Islamic scholar, Qazi Nisar Ahmed. The Ummat-e-Islami has called for a complete shutdown in Islamabad on Wednesday. Fateha Khawani will be held at the martyrs’ graveyard in Islamabad, tomorrow. At least sixteen passengers were injured after a bus they were travelling in met with an accident in Poonch district, today. All the injured passengers were shifted to district hospital Poonch for the treatment.
