JUH urges India to resolve Kashmir dispute through dialogue
New Delhi, November 07, 2019 (PPI-OT): President of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind (JUH), Maulana Syed Arshad Madani, has said that political problems can only be solved through negotiations and the Indian government should take people of Kashmir into confidence and open the door of dialogue for resolving the Kashmir dispute.
Maulana Syed Arshad Madani addressing a news conference in New Delhi said, “We are extremely worried that the people of Kashmir continue to be deprived of a wide range of human rights, including healthcare facilities such as dialysis and heart treatment. Courts are not working while schools, colleges, markets and other institutions are closed and daily-wagers are on the brink of starvation and hundreds of youth have been arrested and put in various jails as their families do not know their whereabouts.”
He said that people’s movement could not be crushed by the use of force and it should be resolved by peaceful means. He added that since the unilateral abrogation of special status of Kashmir and dividing it into two union territories on August 5 by the Modi government, the normalcy did not return to the territory.
