Maj Gen Muhammad Javed appointed Pakistan Steel CEO

KARACHI: The 336th meeting of board of directors of Pakistan Steel here Tuesday approved appointment of Maj Gen (retd) Muhammad Javed as chief executive officer of Pakistan Steel under the Pakistan Steel Companies Ordinance 1984 and the approved package of the government of Pakistan.

Maj Gen (retd) Muhammad Javed had already been serving as member of the board of directors. The meeting with chairman board of directors Fazalullah Qureshi in chair also approved the resignation of Chief Financial Officer Shahid Muhsan Shaikh. The board upholding the administrative decision of Pakistan Steel did not extended the contract of ex-deputy general manager/ incharge (internal audit).

The meeting also approved the audited accounts of the year 2001-12 ended at June 30, 2012. It also reviewed the business plan and approved appointment of external auditors up to June 2013. The financial issues, raw material inventories and administrative issues were also discussed in the meeting.
