Srinagar, July 09, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai while expressing concern over the plight of illegally detained Kashmiris in Baramulla and other jails has said that the detainees are not provided proper medical facilities in jails.

Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, said that release of political detainees on bail was deliberately delayed due to political interference in judiciary. He said that the inmates were not provided proper food and medical care.

Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Chairman urged human rights organizations to take notice of the plight of Kashmiri detainees languishing in Indian jails and ensure provision of facilities entitled to the inmates as per jail manual. He said the situation in Indian jails is worse than the Guantanamo Bay jail. He demanded immediate release of all the Kashmiri detainees.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai expressed serious concern about the worsening health condition of Hurriyat leader, Ayaz Muhammad Akbar’s wife and called for his release on urgent basis. He said it is unfortunate that Ayaz Akbar’s wife is lying on the death bed and gazing out to see the glimpse of her husband.
