Targeted killings in Karachi claim 8 lives

Karachi: Eight people including two real brothers were gunned down in incidents of target killing in different areas of Karachi on Monday.

55 years old Qamar Hussain s/o Syed Nazir Ali, his brother 30 years old Muhammad Hussain and their cousin 30 years old Hussain Abbass S/o Pyar Ali were gunned down by three unidentified armed bike riders in Nazimabad Number2 in the remit of Gulbahar police station. The bodies were moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital ASH for medicolegal formalities. Police suspect that the triple murder might be connected to the ongoing sectarian killings in Karachi. Panic and fear gripped the area after the sad incident.

Similarly, 22 years old Saeed Alam S/o Kabir Ahmed and 23 years old Amir Hussain S/o Abdul Jabbar were gunned down by unidentified armed men in Machhar Colony, Keamari Town in remit of Docks police station.

The bodies were shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi CHK. Police said both victims had criminal record and wanted to police in robberies.

A man, whose identity could not be ascertained, was killed by unidentified armed men near Kerala Chowk, New Karachi in the remit of Khawaja Ajmer Nagri police. The body was moved to ASH.

65 years old Abdul Sattar S/o Abdul Hameed was gunned down by unidentified armed men in Ayub Goth area in the limits of Sohrab Goth Police, while 45 years old Muhammad Rafiq was wounded in the same incident. The body and injured were rushed to ASH.

Meanwhile, a youngster namely Zohaib was killed by unidentified armed men at Superhighway, Sohrab Goth in the limit of Gadap City Police Station. The youngster was driving a vehicle when targeted by attackers. The body was moved to ASH. Police sources said the victim was student of private medical college located near Toll Plaza.

In yet another firing incident, prayer leader of local Masjid was wounded in firing of unidentified armed men near Anda Mor, North Nazimabad. He was rushed to the ASH for treatment.
