Islamabad: The National Assembly (NA) was informed on Wednesday that one thousand new Utility Stores will be opened throughout the country.
Parliamentary Secretary for Industries and Production Rao Ajmal Khan told the House during Question Hour session that the project will cost two billion rupees and one billion rupees will be contributed each by the government and the Utility Stores Corporation. He said PC-I of the project has been submitted to the government for approval.
Rao Ajmal Khan said with new stores the total number of utility stores in the country will raise to two thousand. To a question, he said that the growth rate of industrial sector for the last financial year was 3.49 percent whereas the growth rate for the first six months of the current financial year stands at 5.4 percent.
He said the confidence of the investors has improved on the government’s investment policies. To a question, Minister for Ports and Shipping Kamran Michael told the House that Phase-I of the Gwadar Port Project has been completed and different structures have been built.
He said the major structures include one hundred meter service berth, sixty meters long three multipurpose berths and maintenance workshops and security buildings.
