Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 38% Pakistanis think the salary of an unskilled laborer in their vicinity is between Rs. 301 and Rs. 400 per day.

A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked, “In your opinion, what is the salary of an unskilled labourer in your vicinity?” Responding to this, 12% said up to Rs. 200, 25% said between Rs. 201 and Rs. 300, 38% said between Rs. 301 and Rs. 400 whereas 13% said between RS. 401 and Rs. 500. 12% of the respondents said greater than Rs. 500.

The study was released by Gilani Foundation and carried out by Gallup Pakistan, the Pakistani affiliate of Gallup International. The recent survey was carried out among a sample of 2596 men in rural and urban areas of all four provinces of the country, during May 05, 2014 – May 12, 2014. Error margin is estimated to be approximately ± 2-3 per cent at 95% confidence level.
