ISLAMABAD: The sad demise of custodian of Haramain Al-Sharifain King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia on Friday early morning has sent a wave of grief and sorrow throughout the world particularly the Muslim community.
In their separate condolence messages, President Mamnoon Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif have described the death of King Abdullah as an irreparable loss to the Muslim Ummah.
In his message, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said Pakistani nation stands with King’s family and Saudi nation in this hour of grief. He said being Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah had a deep respect in the hearts of Pakistani people.
Paying homage to King Abdullah, Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said Pakistan has lost a true friend. Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Deputy Speaker Murtaza Javed Abbasi and Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Mohammad Yousaf have also expressed their heartfelt grief over the sad demise of King Abdullah.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has left for Saudi Arabia to attend the funeral of late Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz. His funeral prayers will be offered after Asr prayers at Prince Turki Bin Abdul Aziz mosque in Riyadh.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has also announced one-day mourning over the death of Saudi King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz. The flag will fly at half-mast.
