ISLAMABAD: A meeting decided on Thursday that Pak PWD will prepare a cost estimate for the security matters of educational institutions in the federal capital and resources will be arranged by CA&DD according to the cost estimates.
The meeting chaired by Minister of State for CA&DD, Barrister Usman Ibrahim regarding security arrangements in schools and colleges was attended by Additional Secretary Qaiser Majeed, Senior Joint Secretary Rukhsana Rehman, Director General FDE and Director of Estate Management.
It was also decided in the meeting that police would be asked to patrol around schools and colleges, at opening and closing hours. The meeting decided that school management committees will conduct meeting to arrange their armed security guards through fund raising and SMCs may arrange fund raising by volunteer parents and other well off families.
It was further decided that security guards may be deputed immediately in sensitive institutions and directions were issued for this purpose. The minister also directed Senior Joint Secretary Rukhsana Rehman, DG, FDE Aamir Ashraf Khawja and Director State Management Tanveer to visit all schools and colleges to see the arrangements and to report to him.
The minister reiterated that no stone will be left unturned for taking security measurements and each school and college has been directed to prepare its emergency plan of action and evacuation plan and help of police will be sought to prepare plan where needed.
Inspector General of Police had a meeting with all Principals of schools and colleges and they were asked to bring their smart mobile phones along with to install the software of emergency alert and it was also told in the meeting that how to deliver message to law enforcing agencies in case of emergency.
