ISLAMABAD: President FPCCI Mian Mohammad Adrees on Wednesday said that industrial sector which is benefited with the reduced prices of crude oil and other raw material should pass on this price benefit to the general public by reducing the prices of their products.
In a statement, he said it is the general phenomena when the cost of doing business or production cost reduced the price per unit of the product are automatically reduced. He said that the general public was under severe pressure of inflation for the last few years and it is the time to give them relief.
He said as a good gesture the business community should come forward to give relief to the people of Pakistan and pass on the benefit of reduced prices of petroleum based products to establish good ethics in the society.
He regretted that our transport sector always raise voice for increase in their fare whenever they found price hike in petrol and diesel but in current scenario the government has reduced approximately 28% price of petrol and diesel during last couple of months but the transporters still not reduced their fares of transportation.
He urged on immediate reduction in the fares of transportation as per the current prevailing ratio of fuel prices. The transporters should also give relief to the people of Pakistan in fares of public transport, he said.
