Islamabad: The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) has disconnected electricity supply of Parliament Lodges, Election Commission, Pak Secretariat and other government institutions in Islamabad for non-payment of bills.
According to media reports the order to disconnect power supply was issued by Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali.
Earlier, Abid Sher Ali said that an across the board campaign has been started against the power theft and defaulters. The prime minister has given the Ministry of Water and power the time of one month to recover the receivables and check the power pilferage.
The minister said that electricity will only be given to the consumers paying their bills, adding that an effective policy is being evolved to reduce duration of power cuts.
