ISLAMABAD: Petroleum Dealers Association on Tuesday said that the demand and supply situation of the petroleum products was improving gradually and hopefully the crisis will be overcome shortly.
It said that 5.7 million litre petrol has been supplied to the petrol pumps during the last three days and over 1.8 million litre petrol will be provided to the pumps by tonight which will help further improve the situation.
It further said that the staff of the petrol pumps has been directed to supply diesel and petrol to the consumers according to their demand. To stop misuse of petroleum products the supply of petrol in bottles and other containers has been banned.
According to a spokesman of Pakistan State Oil (PSO), petrol supply from companies’ outlets has been doubled which will help overcome the situation. Meanwhile, a committee established to probe into petrol crisis has presented its preliminary report to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The special committee was constituted by the Prime Minister.
