Islamabad: The Red Zone of federal capital has been sealed off by placing containers at all entry and exit points as part of the security arrangements owing to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf’s (PTI) protest rally. According to reports more than one hundred containers have been placed to block the roads leading towards Red Zone.
The authorities fine-tuned plans to secure the federal capital. The police sealed access to the sensitive Red Zone with containers.
Paramilitary Rangers and Punjab Elite Force commandos are guarding the zone. Similarly, a 3,500-strong police contingent are providing security for the rally. Business activities of Capital main business hub Blue Area, Melody, Super Market, Jinnah Super have been suspended.
On the other hand, PTI has claimed that transporters were being threatened in Faisalabad for participating in the rally. District administration has placed barriers around private bus stands in Gujrat as well.
The party officials alleged that police is harassing its workers while crackdown has been launched against transporters and drivers in different cities of Punjab. Meanwhile number of people were gathering Capital D. Chowk to participate in PTI protest rally.
