ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Fed Cup Team comprising Ushna Suhail, Eman Qureshi, and Sara Mansoor, with Captain Inamul Haq, left for India on Sunday to participate in the Fed Cup Asia Oceania Group – 2 Competition which is scheduled to be held at Hyderabad, India, from April 14 at Plaxipave Synthetic courts of SAAP Tennis Complex, Hyderabad.
The best player of Pakistan, Sarah Mahboob Khan, who has recently won the 1st Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Clay Court Championship, who was originally selected, is not available to go to India as she is busy in her final exams and the season ending Conference Tournament in USA.
Before leaving for India, the players had a brief coaching camp at Islamabad under the supervision of Captain/Coach Inamul Haq. According to the ITF format, 12 teams from region will be divided into 4 groups. Each group comprises 3 teams and the winner team of this competition will be promoted to group 1 of Asia Oceania in 2016.
Host India is also in the same group. The tennis queen of Asia, Sania Mirza, world no 2 doubles player, will be in action as a member of the Indian Fed Cup team. The draws will be taken out on 13th in the presence of all Captains at the venue.
