Islamabad: According to a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan, 54% Pakistanis say it is likely that ex-president Musharraf will be declared not guilty in his trial. 41% say the outcome of the case will have no effect on them.
A nationally representative sample of adult men and women, from across the four provinces was asked “How likely is it that Musharraf will be declared not guilty, like all his other cases?” Responding to this, 20% said very likely, 34% said somewhat likely and 23% said somewhat not likely. 18% replied not likely at all and 5% did not respond.
Following up respondents were asked, “How would you feel if former President Musharraf is convicted?” In response, 21% said will be happy, 24% said will be sad and 41% said it will have no effect. 14% did not respond.
